Had the opportunity to go to the first FULLY halal premium supermarket (pork and alcohol-free) SAM's Groceria in Gurney Paragon Mall in Penang recently. SAM's Groceria, is the Mydin retail group's premium urban grocer chain in Malaysia. Chek suka naaaa....!!
Love the self-scanning tools they have. You scan along the prices of your purchases as you put things in your trolley. If there's an offer it will appear on the barcode scanner. And when you want to check-out, just hand over the scanner and the list will be downloaded into the Point-Of-Sale system for payment. No need to wait for the cashier to scan everything again. He or she only verifies the items purchased and then you can leave for home.
Apparently there will be a KL outlet somewhere near the golden triangle soon. Can't wait!
